About This Quilt

This Gift Quilt™ has a very special meaning to me.  Of course I was honored when 36th General President Dr. Willis Lonzer asked me to develop a cherished keepsake for his fraternity brothers.  However, as the daughter and wife of Alpha men this creation took on new meaning for me.  I have known of Alpha Phi Alpha all my life.  The seven “Jewel” founders were visionaries, creating the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity with aspirations to uplift Black men through scholarship, leadership and service.   The front of the quilt honors their role and the motto crafted that inspires hundreds of thousands of men.  The back is focused on the coat of arms, the aims of Alpha and features the Great Sphinx of Giza – a symbol of resilience and greatness.  Each detail of the quilt and the unboxing was developed intentionally to ensure a special, relevant and memorable experience.
