About This Design

This Special Edition Gift Quilt™ was commissioned by Dr. Shuana Tucker-Sims, National President of The Links, Incorporated®, to commemorate 80 extraordinary years of friendship and service.

Our National President envisioned a tribute to the enduring bonds of our sisterhood and her theme, “Where Friendship & Service Connect.” I wanted the design to honor the women who paved the way, celebrate the global impact of our collective service, and look confidently toward the future.

Four generations of Link sisters stand together, representing the strength, elegance, and continuity of our sisterhood. Interconnected links frame the women, symbolizing the friendships that hold us together. Behind them, a globe represents our far-reaching service and commitment to transforming communities around the world. White roses add beauty and grace, while thoughtful embroidered details bring richness and dimension to the design. Across the front, elegant lettering carries the President’s theme: Where Friendship & Service Connect.

The reverse features the emblem of The Links, Incorporated®, surrounded by symbolic links and roses, along with three declarations that capture the spirit of our sisterhood: Rooted in Tradition. Driven by Resilience. Defined by Excellence. Beneath the emblem, the words Linked in Friendship, Connected in Service. Since 1946 honor our founding and enduring purpose.
