About This Quilt
I designed this Gift Quilt™ as a heartfelt celebration of new beginnings, meant to honor the beautiful journey of motherhood. Imagine wrapping a new mom in comfort and love, as she embraces the arrival of her precious baby. This quilt, featuring a soft grey background, offers a soothing foundation that symbolizes peace and serenity, while the Madonna motif radiates grace and nurturing spirit.
I chose to surround her in a soft bouquet of hydrangeas, roses, and delicate baby’s breath, to convey abundance, heartfelt emotions, and gratitude. The hydrangeas symbolize the overwhelming joy of new life, while the soft roses embody love and tenderness—a gentle reminder of the bond between mother and child. In addition to the satin embroidery on the hair, features, jewelry and clothing — the baby’s hair has soft yarn embroidery for added texture. The exquisite baby’s breath, adorned with plush chenille embroidery, adds an additional another soft texture that invites warm cuddles and bonding moments.
As the sun rises just behind the Madonna, marking a new chapter filled with blessings and divine answers to prayers. The front of the quilt features the powerful message: “For this child we prayed,” inspired by 1 Samuel, capturing the essence of hope and expectation that accompanies every new baby. On the back, graceful praying hands symbolize the father and collective prayers for this child — honoring the community that surrounds them with love and support. The heartfelt message, “We pray for this child. May life be filled with joy, laughter, and countless blessings,” serves as a touching reminder that this new life holds so much promise.
This gender neutral double-sided quilt is not only a cozy accessory but also a tangible reflection of faith and love, perfect for snuggling during those quiet moments.
