COMMEMORATING 75 YEARS OF THE LINKS, INCORPORATED
The Links, Incorporated was founded 75 years ago by two visionary women, Margaret Rosell Hawkins and Sarah Strickland Scott. who was a passionate supporter of the arts.
In honor of the co-founders and to provide a tangible reminder of this historic milestone that has been achieved because of their trailblazing vision, National President Kimberly Jeffries Leonard commissioned me to create a one-of-a-kind art quilt that will hang at National Headquarters as well as 750 special edition gift quilts for Links to enjoy in celebration of our 75th Anniversary.
LEADING A LEGACY Special Edition Gift Quilt
As a timeless gift for self or others, this gift quilt is a soft, usable, daily warming reminder of the power within each of us.
Through the design, I wanted to capture the wisdom, elegance, style, and grace of the generations of women who have made The Links, Incorporated the transformational organization it is today. These women are looking to the future, because it is the collective leadership we bring today which will shape that future for the next 75 years.
Much like the legacy we strive to create through friendship and service, this quilt is a keepsake that can be passed down from generation to generation.

A QUILT TO FORTIFY AS WE SHAPE OUR FUTURE
I created my line of gift quilts for those quiet moments in when we do the hard work of dreaming, reflecting, healing, deciding, and motivating ourselves. They not only warm the body, but also fortify the spirit
Quilts have long told the stories of our ancestors, reflected their dreams, held their secrets, and shielded them from harm. Quilts even marked paths to freedom. And much like a quilt that begins in pieces as separate fabrics, we come together through friendship and service to create a legacy that can be passed down through the generations.

MY JOURNEY IN LINKDOM
I have been a proud member of the Jackson County Chapter of The Links, Incorporated in Kansas City for over 15 years. However, The Links organization has been a part of my life since an early age. I am from the Bay Area originally and participated in a Links cotillion when I was 17 years old. My godmother Barbara Hopper was a Link, and her chapter embraced all of us as young women, making an unforgettable impression.
I know the purpose and excellence that live within each of my Link sisters. I felt compelled to create something really beautiful and special in recognition of this important moment in our history.
I share the passion for creative expression that our co-founder Margaret Rosell Hawkins has embedded in the fabric of The Links, Incorporated. That is why it has been such an honor to create this special keepsake for our 75th, and I want to personally thank President Kim Jefferies Leonard for her vision and belief in what this could be.
