About This Quilt
I created The Omega Quilt to honor a legacy defined by purpose, brotherhood, and excellence. I believe that every stitch can tell a story—and this one celebrates the founding principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. On the front, the four founders as young men—Edgar Amos Love, Oscar J. Cooper, Frank Coleman, and Dr. Ernest E. Just—are framed within the iconic Omega symbol outline in gold embroidery. Their portraits serve as a lasting tribute to visionaries who built not just a fraternity, but a movement rooted in faith, integrity, and service.
On the reverse, the fraternity’s crest stands proudly against a field of rich gold, surrounded by embroidered details that speak to courage, honor, and achievement. At its heart lies the phrase that defines every Omega man: “Friendship is essential to the soul.” It’s more than a motto—it’s a reminder of the enduring bonds that strengthen communities and generations.
Like all of my Gift Quilts™, this piece was created with intention—to honor tradition, to celebrate connection, and to preserve legacy. Whether displayed with pride or passed down through generations, it serves as both a work of art and a heartfelt expression of gratitude to those who embody the spirit of brotherhood and uplift every day.
