CELEBRATING THE NOBLE FOUNDERS AND PRINCIPLES OF OMEGA PSI PHI
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated was founded in 1911 on the campus of Howard University by four extraordinary young men with a purpose to attract and build a strong and effective force of handsome men dedicated to the cardinal principles of manhood scholarship perseverance and uplift.
I’m excited to share with you THE OMEGA QUILT commissioned by 41st Grand Basileus, Dr. David Marion. As a proud member of the Divine Nine, I designed this Special Edition Gift Quilt exclusively for the men of Omega Psi Phi just in time for the 83rd Grand Conclave held in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Omega Quilt A Special Edition Gift Quilt
Commemorating the brotherhood of the men of Omega Psi Phi, this double-sided quilt is a soft, usable keepsake. A timeless gift for self or others that can be passed down from generation to generation.
On the evening of November 17, 1911, three undergraduates — Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper and Frank Coleman joined by their faculty adviser, Ernest Everett Just founded the purpose of Omega. Inspired by representing their visionary youth and the beloved cardinal principles that inspire Omega men globally today, I chose to encompass them within the Omega. I made sure to include embroidered touches everywhere – framing the Omega symbol and each of the cardinal principles. To make the quilt extra special I highlighted each founder’s name, skin and dignified attire.
I’m proud to share 10% that of the proceeds from this quilt will go to the Fraternity to further their mission and purpose.

A QUILT TO FORTIFY YOUR JOURNEY
So much of who we are as people of African descent has been passed down from generation to generation. My grandmother taught me to quilt the traditional way when I was 21. Ever since, I have been evolving into the textile artist I am today.
Quilts can heal, inspire, comfort, and share generational stories.
I created my line of gift quilts to touch more people. They are for those quiet moments when we do the hard work of dreaming, reflecting, healing, deciding, and motivating ourselves. I want to support people through the emotional journeys of life while making it easy to give a truly meaningful gift that warms the body and fortifies the spirit.

TO THE MEN OF OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY, INCORPORATED
As a proud active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated I know the undeniable power of sisterly and fraternal bonds. To my Divine Nine brothers, this is my first men’s quilt and I am proud to celebrate your brotherhood.
As I observe the men of Omega, I see striving not only honor the cardinal principles but live them. Manhood – as responsible and giving husbands, fathers, sons and brothers; Scholarship – as educated men who contribute as Ministers, Entrepreneurs, CEOs, Politicians, Doctors, Lawyers, Inventors and more; Perseverance – as Black men having to not only endure but thrive in environments that are not always accommodating; Uplift – doing it all with a spirit of lifting as you climb.
When 41st Grand Basileus Dr. David Marion shared with me the importance of creating a quality piece of memorabilia that honored the founders and principles in a way that would be cherished for generations to come, I wanted to do my best to deliver.
I want to personally thank him and the men of Omega Psi Phi for such an amazing opportunity.
Coleman Love A Special Edition Gift Quilt for the Ladies Of Delta Sigma Theta
One of the founders of Omega Psi Phi, Professor Frank Coleman, while a student at Howard University, dated and later married, Edna Brown Coleman, one of the founders of Delta Sigma Theta, and thus the beginning of the bond between Omegas and Deltas. Referred to as Coleman Love, this tradition of Brotherly-Sisterly love runs deep and strong today.
Given this connection it only seem appropriate that I highlight the Special Edition Gift Quilt I developed exclusively for the ladies of DST at the request of Beverly Smith, 26th President & CEO of Delta Sigma Theta
I am proud to share 10% of the proceeds from this quilt go to the Delta Research and Education Foundation (DREF).
There is a limited quantity of this design in stock. It ships immediately.
