I created this Gift Quilt it because our most potent power lies within us. Power can often be confused with strength. Real power comes from knowing who you are and that even in your vulnerability and imperfection you can do anything despite your circumstances. Each of us may need to foster, nurture or manifest that power, but rest assured, it is inside waiting to be unleashed.
I chose to place no words on this Gift Quilt as an ode to the quiet power this design exudes – her closed eyes, natural hair and open hand guestures. Blue and brown are a powerful yet soothing combination – inspiring peace and calmness but color psychology also says trustworthiness and reliability. Yes, trust and rely – our power is within.
